Information we collect
We collect the email address and membership information needed to provide access, billing status, support, update preferences and team seats. Stripe separately processes payment details; Tokyo Culture Signal does not store full card numbers.
Why we use it
We use data to provide and secure the service, send requested access and editorial updates, manage subscriptions, answer support requests, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
Service providers
We use Stripe for payment and billing, Resend for transactional email, and Cloudflare/OpenAI Sites infrastructure for hosting and database services. Each provider processes only the data required for its role.
Retention
Active membership records are retained while the account is in use. Billing records and legally required transaction information may be retained after cancellation. Expired login tokens and sessions are periodically eligible for deletion.
Your choices
You can disable member update emails in Member Account. You may request access, correction or deletion of eligible personal data through the contact page. Some records may be retained where law requires it.
Security and contact
Member sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies and passwordless, one-time email links. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Privacy questions should be sent through the privacy request form.
